The difference between pure cotton T-shirt and all cotton T-shirt

 1. All-cotton T-shirts means that the fabric is made of 100% cotton. The pure cotton T-shirt is a T-shirt made of cotton as the textile material and interwoven by warp and weft yarns. Cotton with more than 75% cotton is pure cotton. However, with the development of the clothing industry, people usually regard these two fabrics as one meaning, just the sayings are different.

2. According to different processing procedures and techniques, cotton T-shirts have certain differences in the clothes produced. For example, pure cotton clothes are easy to wrinkle, while some all-cotton clothes are not easy to wrinkle because of the different fabrics processed.

How to identify whether a T-shirt is pure cotton fabric?

1. Look at the feel

The pure cotton fabric feels natural and soft, feels plump and thick, with a slight astringency and bone texture, and can be pulled less, and the recovery speed after pulling is slow. While the chemical fiber fabric feels soft, slippery, and has a large stretch. It will spring back to its original shape when let go. After the cotton T-shirt’s edge threads is rubbed, a lot of fine threads will come out. You can see fibrous materials of different thicknesses. The structure of chemical fibers is very uniform, and the thickness changes are not obvious. But pay attention to choosing the thread end of the textile on the clothes. The thread used for sewing is often cotton and cannot be used as a reference for distinction.

In addition, because cotton yarn is relatively tough and elastic, the recovery time of pure cotton clothes will be slightly longer after wrinkles. I will teach you the most earthy and distinguishable method: you can grasp it, hold it in your hand, and then let go. The wrinkles are severe, which means it is cotton, or cotton has a lot of ingredients. If there are few wrinkle marks, it means that other ingredients are mixed.

You can also fold the clothing fabric in half, and then scrape it along the edge with your nail. After unfolding, the more obvious the scratch is, the higher the cotton content, and the pure fiber fabric will not leave scratches.

2. Look at the gloss

Except for the mercerized cotton treated with caustic soda, pure cotton fabrics have no obvious luster, and the color is natural and soft. When the clothes are put down naturally, the drape feels natural, and there is little "reflective" phenomenon. You can flatten the clothes and add a certain tension when buying. Then put the fabric and the body downward at a 45 angle to the light source. If there is bright light flashing, then this piece of clothing must be high in chemical fiber. In addition, due to the addition of fluorescent whitening agent, white clothing made of chemical fiber will be whiter than pure cotton clothing, and it may even have a dazzling feeling.

3. Look at water absorption

As we all know, the water absorption of pure cotton fabric is quite good. Dip pure cotton clothes with water, and then squeeze the water dry with your hands. If the water cannot be squeezed dry, it proves that it is not pure cotton. If it is pure cotton Cotton, after squeezing the water, it will show special wrinkles.

4. Smell the smell

Take out a small yarn from the seam of the clothes to perform fire detection. The real natural cotton fiber will not melt when burned, but will produce a natural yellow flame like paper, and at the same time produce the smell of burning paper, which will burn out. Afterwards, gray-white ashes that can be crushed are produced; while the chemical fiber will melt and drip when it is burned, it will also smell of black smoke and burning glue, which will form black hard spots when burned. Of course, this inspection method is unsafe and unrealistic for general consumers, so the first few methods can only be used to judge.
