SEPTRAINBOW umbrellas are known for their excellent quality and enjoy a high reputation in the umbrella industry. They have strict standards for the quality of umbrellas, especially in terms of umbrella testing standards. Every SEPTRAINBOW umbrella must undergo rigorous testing in the laboratory before leaving the factory.
There are two types of quality tests for umbrellas: physical tests and chemical tests. The chemical test is mainly to detect the chemical composition and indicators in the umbrella material. So, what is a physical test?
Physical Test Items
1. Handle shake test: 50times (90°degrees);
2. Impact drop test: Handle at free fall drop; Ferrule at 30”@4drop;
3. Inversion test: 30times;
4. Life cycle test: 1,000cycles;
5. Rib strength: Visually parallel with shaft;
6. Twist test: 10cycles (1cycles per second);
7. Shaft locking test: Raise umbrella horizontal and allow swing;
8. Ribs sticking out distance: Maximum 15cm (from runner edge to tip hole);
9. Force to open shaft: Maximum 2.3kg
10. Force to open canopy: Maximum 5.5kg
11. Force to activate keyspring: Maximum 2.3kg
12. Force to close shaft: Maximum 3.0kg
13. Shaft standing force: Minimum 3.0kg
14. Force to invert canopy: Minimum 2.7kg
15. Coating adhesion test: 3M tape test
16. Fabric soak water test: Colorfastness in 38°C warm water;
17. Wooden shaft bending test: Chatillion Set up method (14 inch apart, 2 inch per minutes).
